The factory colour treatment preserves the natural appearance of the wood and protects against UV and moisture damage.Notes on surface treatment: The kit is pre-treated at the factory so that you can start assembly immediately after delivery. An enclosed repair quantity of glaze enables the professional post-treatment of drill holes and cuts. If you require additional finishing, we recommend light sanding and a coat of high-quality glaze after assembly.The robust polycarbonate sheets ensure a pleasant and protected climate under the canopy. They are translucent, stable and have a UV-reflective coating. They are attached using high-quality aluminium profiles with EPDM lip seals, which ensures a reliable and durable design.The H-anchors made of galvanised flat steel included in the scope of delivery enable secure anchoring in the point foundations to be constructed on site and make a decisive contribution to stability. This means that the terrace roof is ideally prepared for permanent outdoor use.The Sanremo terrace roof is the perfect solution for anyone who values free-standing construction, solid wood quality and timeless design. It creates a sheltered area for relaxing hours outdoors and stylishly extends your living space to the outside.ConstructionThe construction is made of glued laminate timber, consisting of several dried layers, attached to one another with finger-jointing. They are glued onto one another for weather-resistance. This results in a load-bearing beam which is more resistant to warping and less prone to fissures than naturally grown wood.Colour treatmentThe colour-treated components are coated with a layer of paint at the factory. The coating allows the natural wood grain to remain visible whilst ensuring a uniform surface finish. The components are coated on all sides twice at the factory, after which any excess material is brushed off.Thanks to this factory pre-treatment, the components can be assembled immediately upon delivery. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. Components that have been colour-treated on all sides may show storage marks due to technical reasons.Roof coveringThe roof cladding consists of 16 mm thick polycarbonate multiwall sheets. The upper surface is coated with a UV-reflective layer. These are secured using aluminium profiles with EPDM lip seals.BracingThe building kit includes 60 cm-long H-post anchors of galvanized flat steel for embedding in concrete in the site-built deep foundation (for size and lay-out see assembly instructions). We use technically-dried, solid spruce wood, scanned for flaws, sorted and weatherproofed by finger-joint bonding according to length. Small fissures, branches and slight twists reflect the character of the materials used.Colour treatmentThis kit is supplied untreated in color. This gives you the option to apply a color finish to the surfaces according to your individual design preferences and to match them to the surrounding environment.For outdoor use, a suitable surface treatment is recommended to protect the wood from the elements. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for guidance on selecting, applying and maintaining the coating.Assembly can be carried out in accordance with the specifications of the coating system used. Regular inspection and maintenance as required will help to preserve the wood’s appearance in the long term.WallsAll 28 mm-thick wall logs have a single groove and tongue milling. The logs are inserted into one another and slotted and screwed into the corner post.RoofingThe roof consists of 19 mm roof boarding. Roofing with shingles is not possible due to the low roof pitch. We recommend roofing with KSK-M roofing membrane (optionally available).
