KVH is a designation for technically-dried, continuously bonded, solid spruce wood. The individual wood parts are dried, scanned for flaws, sorted and then weatherproofed by continuous bonding using finger-jointing. Fissures, branches and slight twists reflect the character of the materials used.Color treatmentThis building kit is not treated with color. Wood in outdoor areas is constantly exposed to the elements, such as fungus and insect infestations. Regular application of protective coatings is thus essential. Primer should be applied to all sides prior to assembly. First apply wood primer to protect against fungus and insects. Then apply an intermediate and a finishing coat of premium wood varnish or paint to protect against color change and damage. Calculate service intervals of about 4-5 years, prior to the appearance of visible damage. Follow the processing guidelines of the varnish manufacturer.RoofingThe roof is supplied with 20 mm-thick roof boarding for roofing with roof shingles (roof shingles optionally available).BracingThe building kit contains mounting brackets of galvanized flat steel including anchor bolts for attachment to the site-built foundation. SKAN HOLZ Holm 2 wood shelterThe Holm 2 wood shelter, 500 x 144 cm, is a robust and durable solution for storing firewood or construction timber outdoors. The free-standing structure combines the natural resilience of Douglas fir wood with weather-resistant treated spruce wood components to provide a durable, dimensionally stable and visually appealing storage option. High-quality structure: Sturdy posts (12 x 12 cm), roof and rafter timbers (6 x 14 cm) and roof boards (19 mm) made of kiln-dried Douglas fir ensure high load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability. Weather protection: Roof boards including a layer of roofing felt for the initial covering protect the stored materials from precipitation and moisture. Treated surfaces: The floor, walls and roof panel are made of impregnated and colour-treated spruce wood in anthracite - so the shelter is ready for immediate use and requires no immediate after-treatment. Natural and durable: The reddish heartwood of the Douglas fir contains natural resins and oils that make the wood resistant to fungal and insect infestation. Untreated Douglas fir develops a protective grey-silvery patina over time. Large storage volume: Offers a storage capacity of approx. 9 m³ and is therefore suitable for several cubic metres of firewood or other stored goods. Simple assembly: Factory glaze-coated components have already been flooded and brushed twice on all sides - so there is no need for immediate painting and priming. A repair quantity of glaze/paint is included in the kit.Further advantages at a glance: Easy to maintain: If required, visible surfaces can be lightly sanded after installation and additionally glazed or coloured. The reddish heart wood of the Douglas fir contains resin and oils that are resistant against fungus and insect infestations. We use technically-dried Douglas fir which, depending on length, is partly weatherproofed by finger jointing. This type of wood features high surface hardness. Fissures, branches and twists reflect the natural materials used.If Douglas fir is not treated with varnish, a glossy grey-silver patina forms over time. It protects the built structure from environmental challenges, and you from time-consuming wood maintenance.Color treatmentThe color pre-treated parts of the building kit are treated with premium varnish and paint. This protects wood from blue stain and UV damage, as well as from swelling and fading, while still allowing the wooden texture to shine through. At the factory, parts are flow-coated twice on all sides with varnish and the excess subsequently brushed off.You can begin with assembly immediately upon delivery, there is no need for cumbersome priming and painting. Every building kit includes enough touch-up paint or varnish to repair damage and cover screws and cut surfaces at least two times.If you wish to further enhance the surface, lightly sand the visible surfaces and coat them with premium varnish or paint after assembly.
