We use technically-dried, solid spruce wood, scanned for flaws, sorted and weatherproofed by finger-joint bonding according to length. Small fissures, branches and slight twists reflect the character of the materials used.Colour treatmentThe colour-treated components are coated with a layer of paint at the factory. The coating allows the natural wood grain to remain visible whilst ensuring a uniform surface finish. The components are coated on all sides twice at the factory, after which any excess material is brushed off.Thanks to this factory pre-treatment, the components can be assembled immediately upon delivery. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. The SKAN HOLZ snow load extension consists of additional rafters that you mount between the existing roof rafters. This reduces the rafter spacing of the carport and increases the overall load-bearing capacity.
