The SKAN HOLZ snow load reinforcement consists of additional rafters which you fit between the existing roof rafters. This reduces the rafter spacing of the carport, thereby increasing its overall load-bearing capacity. The number and size of the rafters vary depending on the carport.
The snow load increases the carport’s snow load capacity to 2.0 kN/m².
This snow load reinforcement kit contains 6 additional rafters and is compatible with the following models:
- Carport Emsland 609 (613) x 846 cm
- Breisgau carport 609 x 840 cm
- Carport Wendland 630 x 879 cm
- Spessart carport 611 x 846 cm
- Colour-treated in anthracite
Pleasenote:
The snow load cannot be retrofitted to these carports. Please check the required snow load limit for your residential area before assembly.
Construction
The construction is made of glued laminate timber, consisting of several dried layers, attached to one another with finger-jointing. They are glued onto one another for weather-resistance. This results in a load-bearing beam which is more resistant to warping and less prone to fissures than naturally grown wood.
Colour treatment
The colour-treated components are coated with a layer of paint at the factory. The coating allows the natural wood grain to remain visible whilst ensuring a uniform surface finish. The components are coated on all sides twice at the factory, after which any excess material is brushed off.
Thanks to this factory pre-treatment, the components can be assembled immediately upon delivery. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.
For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. Components that have been colour-treated on all sides may show storage marks due to technical reasons.
