This item is an add-on for the anti-condensation fleece for trapezoidal sheet roof panels and is suitable for the SKAN HOLZ Friesland 546 x 708 cm carport. Please note that this is an additional item: the trapezoidal sheets included in the kit are replaced with trapezoidal sheets with anti-condensation fleece. An order is therefore only possible in conjunction with the corresponding carport. Function: The anti-condensation fleece absorbs condensation moisture on the underside of the sheets, preventing water from dripping into the carport. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. The SKAN HOLZ snow load extension consists of additional rafters that you mount between the existing roof rafters. This reduces the rafter spacing of the carport and increases the overall load-bearing capacity. Please check the snow load limit required in your residential area before assembly.ConstructionThe construction is made of impregnated softwood. Spruce and pine wood, which is not technically-dried, acquires its greenish color from metal salts released by the impregnating agent. They protect wood against fungus and insect infestations, but do not contain UV protection. Impregnation gives wood higher residual moisture. Subsequent drying can lead to release of resin, twisting and formation of drying cracks, which pose no static disadvantage and rather reflect the natural materials used.Colour treatmentThe wooden parts in this kit have been treated at the factory with a water-based preservative. This means the kit can be assembled straight away upon delivery. To ensure the long-term preservation of the wooden surface, it is recommended that the wood be treated further after a sufficient drying and weathering period of approximately 2 to 3 sunny months.Before painting, the surface should be lightly sanded and cleaned. It is then recommended to apply two coats of a wood preservative suitable for outdoor use. Products with UV protection can help to reduce the visual ageing of the wood caused by weathering. Please follow the application instructions provided by the respective manufacturer.Regular maintenance and timely re-treatment help to keep the surface in good condition over the long term.
