The Friesland 402 x 555 cm carport combines a robust structure with well thought-out functionality and is ideal for safely storing motorhomes, caravans or larger vehicles. The combination of impregnated softwood and a durable roof covering made of galvanised steel trapezoidal sheeting ensures lasting weather resistance and an attractive appearance.

The timber construction is made of solid spruce wood and is impregnated at the factory. The impregnation increases the resistance to wood-damaging organisms; however, UV protection is not part of the treatment. Due to the natural material properties, slight dimensional changes, resin leakage or drying cracks are possible, which have no influence on the statics and emphasise the authenticity of the natural product.
For a long-term attractive surface, we recommend post-treatment after installation:
- Continue to treat the surface after 2-3 months in the sun at the earliest so that excess impregnation has dried.
- Lightly sand and clean before painting.
- Apply two coats of a high-quality protective wood stain and ensure good UV protection.
- Maintenance intervals approx. 4-5 years or renew at the first visible signs of damage.
The trapezoidal sheet steel roof covering is galvanised and polyester-coated on both sides (top side anthracite, underside light grey). This design offers:

The supplied 60 cm H-anchors made of galvanised flat steel are designed to be set in concrete in point foundations provided by the customer and ensure secure anchoring. On request, we can supply the anchors together with a suitable foundation plan - please specify when ordering.
Scope of delivery and assembly instructions:
- Complete kit with posts, H-anchors, roof plates and covers.
- Assembly according to the enclosed assembly instructions; point foundations must be provided by the customer.
- Note: Wood is impregnated at the factory, additional surface treatment recommended.

Construction
The construction is made of impregnated softwood. Spruce and pine wood, which is not technically-dried, acquires its greenish color from metal salts released by the impregnating agent. They protect wood against fungus and insect infestations, but do not contain UV protection. Impregnation gives wood higher residual moisture. Subsequent drying can lead to release of resin, twisting and formation of drying cracks, which pose no static disadvantage and rather reflect the natural materials used.
Colour treatment
The wooden parts in this kit have been treated at the factory with a water-based preservative. This means the kit can be assembled straight away upon delivery. To ensure the long-term preservation of the wooden surface, it is recommended that the wood be treated further after a sufficient drying and weathering period of approximately 2 to 3 sunny months.
Before painting, the surface should be lightly sanded and cleaned. It is then recommended to apply two coats of a wood preservative suitable for outdoor use. Products with UV protection can help to reduce the visual ageing of the wood caused by weathering. Please follow the application instructions provided by the respective manufacturer.
Regular maintenance and timely re-treatment help to keep the surface in good condition over the long term. The required maintenance intervals depend on the location, exposure to the elements and the coating system used.
Steel roofing
The roof is fitted with galvanised trapezoidal steel sheeting. The double-sided polyester coating – anthracite on the top and light grey on the underside – combines a modern appearance with additional protection against the elements.
Thanks to the material’s typically low thermal expansion, dimensional changes due to temperature fluctuations are minimal. The robust design of the trapezoidal sheet offers high load-bearing capacity and is designed for long-term outdoor use as well as to withstand the stresses of snow and hail.
Bracing
The building kit includes 60 cm-long H-post anchors of galvanized flat steel for embedding in concrete in the site-built deep foundation (for size and lay-out see assembly instructions). They firmly connect the posts to the subsurface to ensure high stability.
