SKAN HOLZ Andria terrace roof
The Andria terrace roof offers an elegant and robust solution for providing a weatherproof, high-quality roof for your outdoor area. The structure made of solid glued laminated timber (glued laminated timber) from Nordic spruce combines high load-bearing capacity with dimensionally stable, low-crack components. The natural surface allows individual colour treatment and blends harmoniously into a wide variety of garden and house designs.
Key features at a glance:
- Exterior dimensions - choose from many different sizes to suit your needs
- Glued laminated timber - multi-layer glued wood for high dimensional stability and low warping
- Posts 12 x 12 cm including galvanised screw-on brackets for secure attachment to a foundation provided by the customer
- Roofing: 16 mm polycarbonate multiwall sheets in clear with UV-reflective surface for optimum light transmission and weather protection
- Aluminium profiles with EPDM lip seals for permanent, watertight fastening of the double-skin sheets
Notes on surface treatment and care:
- Delivery is untreated in colour. A first coat of paint on all sides before installation is strongly recommended.
- First use a wood protection primer against fungal and insect infestation, followed by an intermediate and final coat of high-quality wood protection glaze or paint.
- Maintenance intervals: generally renew every 4-5 years or before visible damage occurs; follow the coating manufacturer's processing guidelines.
Technical and installation-relevant information:
- Scope of delivery: complete glulam construction, posts with screw-on supports, polycarbonate multiwall sheets, aluminium profiles with seal.
- Not included: Wall fastening material; this must be selected on a project-specific basis
- Anchoring: galvanised screw-on supports including dowels for fastening to the existing foundation
The Andria terrace roof combines a natural look with high-quality technology: durable glued laminated timber, weather-resistant polycarbonate multiwall sheets and corrosion-protected anchoring elements ensure a durable, functional solution for your outdoor area. Ideal for homeowners who value quality, durability and an attractive design.
Construction
The construction is made of glued laminate timber, consisting of several dried layers, attached to one another with finger-jointing. They are glued onto one another for weather-resistance. This results in a load-bearing beam which is more resistant to warping and less prone to fissures than naturally grown wood.
Color treatment
This building kit is not treated with color. Wood in outdoor areas is constantly exposed to the elements, such as fungus and insect infestations. Regular application of protective coatings is thus essential. Primer should be applied to all sides prior to assembly. First apply wood primer to protect against fungus and insects.
Then apply an intermediate and a finishing coat of premium wood varnish or paint to protect against color change and damage. Calculate service intervals of about 4-5 years, prior to the appearance of visible damage. Follow the processing guidelines of the varnish manufacturer.
Roofing
Roofing consists of stable, 16 mm-thick polycarbonate twin-wall sheet. The top face is provided with a UV-reflecting layer. It is attached with a high-quality aluminium profile with EPDM lip-seals.
Bracing
The building kit contains mounting brackets of galvanized flat steel including anchor bolts for attachment to the site-built foundation. They ensure secure connection to the subsurface.
