The SKAN HOLZ increased snow-load consists of additional rafter triangles that you mount between the existing rafter triangles. In this way you reduce the rafter spacing of the carport and thereby increase the overall load capacity. The number and size of the rafters varies depending on the carport.
Increased snow load increases the snow load of the carport to 1,9 kN/m².
This increased snow load fits the following models:
- Carport Wallgau 620 x 900 cm
- colour-treated in walnut
Please be aware:
Increased snow load cannot subsequently be backfitted on the carports. Before assembling, please find out what the snow-load limit is in your area.
Construction
The construction is made of impregnated softwood. Spruce and pine wood, which is not technically-dried, acquires its greenish color from metal salts released by the impregnating agent. They protect wood against fungus and insect infestations, but do not contain UV protection. Impregnation gives wood higher residual moisture. Subsequent drying can lead to release of resin, twisting and formation of drying cracks, which pose no static disadvantage and rather reflect the natural materials used.
Colour treatment
The colour-treated components are coated with a layer of paint at the factory. The coating allows the natural wood grain to remain visible whilst ensuring a uniform surface finish. The components are coated on all sides twice at the factory, after which any excess material is brushed off.
Thanks to this factory pre-treatment, the components can be assembled immediately upon delivery. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.
For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. Components that have been colour-treated on all sides may show storage marks due to technical reasons.
