The SKAN HOLZ increased snow-load consists of additional rafters, which are mounted between the existing roof rafters. This reduces the rafter spacing of the carport and increases load capacity. The number and size of the rafters varies according to carport.
Increased snow load increases the snow load of the carport to 2,0 kN/m².
This snow-load increase contains 8 additional rafters and fits the following models:
- Carport Friesland 314 x 708 cm
- Carport Spreewald 345 x 741 cm
- colour-treated in slate grey
Please be aware:
Increased snow load cannot subsequently be backfitted on the carports. Before assembling, please find out what the snow-load limit is in your area.
Construction
The construction is made of impregnated softwood. Spruce and pine wood, which is not technically-dried, acquires its greenish color from metal salts released by the impregnating agent. They protect wood against fungus and insect infestations, but do not contain UV protection. Impregnation gives wood higher residual moisture. Subsequent drying can lead to release of resin, twisting and formation of drying cracks, which pose no static disadvantage and rather reflect the natural materials used.
Color treatment
The color pre-treated parts of the building kit are treated with premium varnish and paint. This protects wood from blue stain and UV damage, as well as from swelling and fading, while still allowing the wooden texture to shine through. At the factory, parts are flow-coated twice on all sides with varnish and the excess subsequently brushed off.
You can begin with assembly immediately upon delivery, there is no need for cumbersome priming and painting. Every building kit includes enough touch-up paint or varnish to repair damage and cover screws and cut surfaces at least two times.
If you wish to further enhance the surface, lightly sand the visible surfaces and coat them with premium varnish or paint after assembly. Traces of storage on all-round color-treated components are due to technical reasons.
