Construction
The construction is made of solid Nordic fir. We use technically-dried, solid spruce wood, scanned for flaws, sorted and weatherproofed by finger-joint bonding according to length. Small fissures, branches and slight twists reflect the character of the materials used.
Color treatment
The wooden parts of this building kit are not color treated. Wood in outdoor areas is constantly exposed to the elements, such as fungus and insect infestations. Regular, all-round application of protective coatings is thus essential. First apply wood primer to protect against fungus and insects. Then apply an intermediate and a finishing coat of premium wood varnish or paint to protect against color change and damage.
Ideally, assemble between application of the first and second coat of varnish/paint. The poling boards must have dried prior to assembly. Calculate service intervals of about 4-5 years, prior to the appearance of visible damage. Follow the processing guidelines of the varnish manufacturer.
Walls
All 28 mm-thick wall logs have a single groove and tongue milling. The logs are inserted into one another and slotted and screwed into the corner post.
Roofing
The roof consists of 19 mm roof boarding. Roofing with shingles is not possible due to the low roof pitch. We recommend roofing with KSK-M roofing membrane (optionally available). The slope runs toward the rear.
Sliding glass door
The sliding door consists of three individual door leaves. The toughened safety glass panes used here are set in aluminum frames. Rollers are integrated into the lower frame profile of the door leaves. Together with the aluminum guide profiles, this ensures smooth sliding. Drive profiles on the door leaves ensure convenient opening and closing, as well as security when the door is closed. The leaves can be pushed together to the left or right for opening. The guide and side end profiles are simply screwed into the opening of the house and sealed. You can lock the door securely thanks to special sliding door locks, one in the left and one in the right sash.
Flooring
The floor consists of untreated 19 mm floorboards with tongue and groove, including impregnated ground supports.
