Breisgau carport, 340 x 598 cm, with EPDM roof, light oak

Premium quality for your garden
  Assembly instructions Data sheet

SKAN HOLZ Breisgau carport

The Breisgau carport combines robust structure in a classic design with high-quality roofing, making it the ideal solution for protecting cars and motorbikes or as a covered storage area. The sturdy structure, made from glued laminated timber (glued laminated timber) of Nordic spruce, ensures high dimensional stability and minimal cracking. The factory-applied light oak finish preserves the natural appearance of the wood and protects against UV and moisture damage.

  • Solid structure: Glued-laminated timber beams ensure durability and high load-bearing capacity.
  • Weather protection: Surfaces pre-treated at the factory with two coats of wood stain on all sides reduce swelling and shrinkage; repair stain for cut and assembly surfaces is included in the delivery.
  • Dimensions: The carports in this range are available in several sizes
  • 12 x 12 cm posts: Sturdy supports including H-post anchors for secure anchoring in the foundation.
  • High-quality roofing: 19 mm roof boarding with EPDM foil bonded over the entire surface – durable, flexible and UV-resistant
  • Profiled timber cladding with aluminium end edge: An aesthetic detail and additional protection for the front edges.
  • Includes guttering with downpipe: Galvanised, anthracite-coated metal; installation fittings included; also available in white on request.
  • Post anchoring: Includes 60 cm H-post anchors made of galvanised flat steel for setting in concrete within point foundations to be provided on site.

The kit is pre-treated at the factory, so you can start assembly immediately upon delivery. An enclosed quantity of wood stain is provided to allow for the professional after-treatment of drill holes and cut edges. For an additional finish, we recommend lightly sanding the surface after assembly and applying a coat of high-quality wood stain.

The EPDM roofing membrane is laid in one piece and cold-bonded – this type of roofing is particularly suitable for gently sloping roofs and offers impressive resistance to weathering, a long service life and low maintenance requirements. The scope of delivery includes all the materials required for the professional installation of the roof covering.

Installation and service: The kit is supplied with all necessary fixings and H-anchors. On request, we will be happy to provide you with the appropriate foundation plan — please specify this when ordering. Please refer to the installation instructions for the dimensions of the point foundation and the correct installation of the guttering (when cutting to size, use a suitable hand saw to prevent rust forming on the cut edges).

The Breisgau carport is a durable, flexible and visually appealing solution for outdoor use. Thanks to the combination of high-quality glued laminated timber, corrosion-protected roofing and practical features, you receive a product that is highly durable and easy to maintain and install.

Construction

The construction is made of glued laminate timber, consisting of several dried layers, attached to one another with finger-jointing. They are glued onto one another for weather-resistance. This results in a load-bearing beam which is more resistant to warping and less prone to fissures than naturally grown wood.

Colour treatment

The colour-treated components are coated with a layer of paint at the factory. The coating allows the natural wood grain to remain visible whilst ensuring a uniform surface finish. The components are coated on all sides twice at the factory, after which any excess material is brushed off.

Thanks to this factory pre-treatment, the components can be assembled immediately upon delivery. A primer coat prior to assembly is not required. Each kit also includes a quantity of wood stain or paint for touching up cut edges, screw holes or any damage caused during assembly. These areas should be treated in accordance with the installation instructions.

For a personalised finish, the visible wooden surfaces can be lightly sanded after assembly and treated with a suitable wood stain or paint. Components that have been colour-treated on all sides may show storage marks due to technical reasons.

Roof covering

The roofing consists of 19 mm-thick timber roof boarding with EPDM foil. This material is suitable for roofs with a low pitch and is characterised by its elastic properties as well as high resistance to weathering and UV radiation. It is installed in a single piece using cold bonding with the adhesive supplied, thereby reducing the number of joints. The material is flexible to work with and is designed for use as roof waterproofing.

Bracing

The building kit includes 60 cm-long H-post anchors of galvanized flat steel for embedding in concrete in the site-built deep foundation (for size and lay-out see assembly instructions). They firmly connect the posts to the subsurface to ensure high stability.

Snow load for single carport (narrow), depth up to 604 cm, light oak

The SKAN HOLZ snow load reinforcement consists of additional rafters which you fit between the existing roof rafters. This reduces the rafter spacing of the carport, thereby increasing its overall load-bearing capacity. The number and size of the rafters vary depending on the carport. The snow load increases the carport’s snow load capacity to 2.0 kN/m².This snow load reinforcement kit contains 4 additional rafters and is compatible with the following models:Carport Emsland 340 (354) x 604 cmBreisgau carport 340 x 598 cmCarport Wendland 362 x 628 cmSpessart carport 355 x 604 cmColour-treated in light oakPleasenote:The snow load cannot be retrofitted to these carports.
